Trade Alerts and Influencing Stock Direction

Why do you blame Lionmaster for squeezing you on certain trades (ie. CDII), yet NEVER admit influencing the direction of a stock through your trades and alerts? You were publicly annoyed at Lionmaster for pumping CDII because you had the opposite position, yet when your subs moan about your buy trade/alerts on ZANE, when they had opposite positions to you, you scold them, call the idiots and dismiss your alert had anything to do with the small spike.
Curtis Stark asked this on March 13, 2010
Curtly, if my subscribers were screwed over why did I get NO cancelations for the past 2 days? Normally I get 1-2 anyways, but there havent been any...why in the world would someone "screwed over" not cancel? Could your thesis be wrong? Might you not realize that when I post 3 warnings that the stock is looking strong as in potential buy instead of potential short, well, some subscribers might actually take that a s a sign that i might follow through on that "potential buy"
March 14, 2010
Curtly, I did answer your question, you're just too dumb to realize it...Lionmaster is not transparent so he very well could trade against his subscribers, we dont know...you know all my entries and exits...I bought thinking it was a good buy before it headed higher...I was slightly wrong although it did spike the EXACT same way the next day...tell me why in the world would I try to squeeze my paying subscribers on a measly 3k shares? Are you seriously that dumb. My subscribers are the vast majority of my business, unlike Lionmaster who uses his readers to profit off them trading against them. My interests are aligned with my subscribers, his are not, that's not hypocrisy, thats reality. Humility for jackasses like you, never. instead of thanking me for answering your buffoonry, you waste ore of my time and you criticize a DVD you havent seen. Level 2 is NOT the holy grail, it will just help you learn how to trade better and protect yourself in squeezes like this. I'm done with you, consider yourself fired, you can get the alerts, but you're on ignore form now on until you learn to research and use logic rather than make evidence-lacking assumptions
March 13, 2010
Ps Not one subscriber canceled this entire alleged backlash...it's all one guy, Curtly, pathetic that you choose to spend your time like this, you're gonna ruin it for everyone you ingrate...people like you deserve nothing but stock promotion, you attack the one guy trying to make this industry better
March 13, 2010
Curtly ANYBODY in the world has the ability to squeeze, you can make up anything to try to squeeze shorts, but I use facts and historical action...I dont try to influence others, I post what I'm thinking when I consider buying/shorting a stock. I don't post ridiculous price targets like Lionmaster does in order to squeeze people, i dont quote from misleading PRs and ignore SEC filings...I am a realist, I said the stock looks like its holding strong, so I bought expecting a breakout above 3.50..Lionmaster would've said price target of 8 to scare shorts, do you see the difference? MY service is worthless? LOL, you yourself said you were up $20,000+ based on my strategy, your own success proves EXACTLY how "worthless" my service is. You just have attitude/emotional problems, you will NOT be refunded since we are delivering all the services we promised and despite your psychological issues, you're actually benefitting from my service. And yes, it's a mockery that you think I'm not honest, it's unbelievable to me that I continue to answer your questions, but that's what transparency is about, answering even the worst human beings out there. PS you said "If you continue to mislead people that Level 2 is the holy grail", u can't comment on what I say about Level 2 because given your comment you OBVIOUSLY havent seen my level 2 dvd because in it I say to consider the level 2 dvd, but not to trust it entirely...your comments prove your ignorance, just like Jim van Meerten...Jim is that you?
March 13, 2010
Long story short, nobody forces you to follow my trades or my strategy and I've spoiled people like you far too much answering all your questions, detailing everything so openly. If you dont like it, feel free to run along and go trade with ANY other site, NONE of which work as hard as me to help you learn how the game works. Despite your many complaints, you and I both know you have massive profits and I have helped you become a better trader...that's why you not only became a TIMalert subscriber, you just upgraded to become a PennyStocking Silver subscriber. So you will continue getting everything you signed up for, but I will not respond to your absurdities as I have explained everything repeatedly and you have ungraciously proven yourself unworthy of such attention

1.) All my positions are transparent, specific entry, exit, position size mental stop loss and goal, as is my overall strategy, ANYONE can anticipate my trades if they get my DVDs, read my blog and learn to view the data as I do. 2.) I don't like switching positions because I have to deal with junk like this but when the data suggests the odds favor the opposite direction, I will flip....I covered my ZANE short at 9:35am, posting the stock's strength made me scared. I posted on TIMalerts at 10am with an update saying it now looked more like a buy than a short....all day long the stock held strong above 3, making higher lows along the way...a bullish sign...At 2:30pm, I answered a question on here saying why I thought it looked more like a buy than a short and I linked that answer in the timalerts chatroom...I bought a small position at 3.10 because it looked like it would squeeze the shorts...anybody who follows me had a full 5 hours to learn what I was thinking and the stock's volume was over 5 million shares for the day, $16 million traded 3.) Unlike Lionmaster, my subscribers are paying, so I do not want to trade against them. Why in the world would I want to squeeze my subscribers, unlike you curtly, I am sane and rational. I bought the small position because I thought the stock was headed higher and I will not miss a perfect trade setup just because some of my subscribers are too stubborn to adapt to price action and/or too lazy/ignorant to see my multiple warnings 4.) The only broker that has reliable shares to short on this one is Sogotrade and I have now referred 7 people there...assuming the referral code somehow didnt work a few time,s I'm guessing there are approximately one dozen TIMalert subscribers trading there...3 subscribers posted they covered in the morning before me as the signs pointed to a big morning spike 5.) I buy and short at key inflection points where the volume often rises if a stock holds or breaks support/resistance...stop losses get triggered and traders see these points too...remember I have 10 DVDs detailing my strategy, NO other trade is so transparent not only with their trades, but teaching other hows to trade so those others can anticipate my trades very easily. 6.) To this day, Lionmaster has never disclosed how many shares he trades, his times/sales, his strategy etc....there is a big difference and you know this 7.) Bring it Curtly and all other haters, the good news about being fully transparent is I eat assumption makers for breakfast...I am the single most transparent and brutally honest trader out there, might I suggest you attack ANYBODY else who does not share their trades, track record, strategy or give daily watchlists or telegraph their trades hours ahead of time... 8.) The stupidity of some astounds me, for the time spent arguing with someone so transparent could easily be spent watching these DVDs and learning my strategy better...and you could've seen for yourself the big bids at 2.70sih ( if you have my Level 2 DVD) and the intraday strength all day (if you have my PennyStocking Part Deux) 9.) The buy turned out to be only okay, but there were several chances the entire next day to get out at 3.20+ and even a few chances to sell at 3.30+ when I correctly predicted there would be some buy ins.
March 13, 2010
I covered 3000 shares at 2.95 that morning once I saw a 60k ask move off $3. Also after the first red day, the stock was NOT collapsing. So it was apparent, that this stock was ready for a panic, but TOO MANY BIDS stepped in. To bad I didn't cover earlier, and was too 'in love' with shorting ZANE as well. Instead of making $1000 or so, I only made $575 (quite a difference). The order was at market too, because the stock was spiking past $3, easily as I could tell. Rule 1 is cut losses quickly. ZANE could easily go to $4 as it did from 30 cents to $3. Don't trust this stock or the trade, adapt, just like in Tim's dvds. And make money anyway you can, long or short. (Tim's answer was better.) Who cares about Lionmaster, he is trying to pump a stock so he can dump it as well. He's trying to make a buck. Tim is at least real about himself, and his trades.

zzzzzz strategy, DVDs, watchlist, alerts, if u're up $20k with my stuff, u should be happy, not crazy..u say one thing is worthless but not the other, to me, it all helps people learn, people learn in different ways...all ic an do is explain what worked and what hasnt. now please stop wasting my time so i can work on stuff that matters

Does TIMalerts Influence Stock Prices?

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Tue 16th of Mar, 2010 03:35:46 PM

Thanks to my success of turning $12,415 into $123,000ish the past 2 years, being the #1 ranked trader out of 45,000 on Covestor (I bring it up not to brag but to differnetiate myself from all the scammers out there who lieeee about their “success”) and the thousands of happy TIMalert subscribers and now hundreds of happy PennyStocking Silver subscribers, I get this question every now and then…

Now I can see why some people might think this, given my 76% winning percentage on 300+ trades (see this Academic Study), but please allow me to refute their assumptions with facts:

1. As I answered in this long answer on my new FAQ page, my influence is greatly exaggerated, especially by penny stock promoters who love trying to discredit me so I don’t screw up their profitable little game of misinformation…the truth is the only broker who had shares to short of Zannett Inc. (ZANE) the other day when I had to cover my short due to getting squeezed is Sogotrade and despite my 1,500+ TIMalert subscribers only 400 of whom bother opening their emails, I have referred exactly 7 people to Sogotrade…add on a few more and I probly have a dozen or so TIMalert subscribers trading there, highly doubtful they were all short alongside me when the spike happened.

2. When I did get squeezed on ZANE at 2.78ish (it’s backing down nicely now at 2.60ish and I’d short if I could find shares), the stock spiked so quickly during/after my cover, I couldn’t even send out the alert fast enough to PennyStocking Silver subscriber who get my trade alerts via IM…the latest reason why people should learn from my instructional DVD packages so they can anticipate moves and my trades ahead of time…to be fair, several TIMalert subscribers, all of whom have studied PennyStocking Part Deux religiously, did beat me on the exit…which is gooood!

3. ZANE traded $16 million for the day I got squeezed, there is no way me and my dozen or so subscribers who have Sogotrade influenced the price at all…and when I bought late day, the stock spiked because it was at a key inflection point, where shorts get squeezed and momentum traders buy…I USUALLY trade at these key inflection points so whether I’m right or wrong these stocks are gonna move…not to mention we’re trading the most volatile stocks in the entire stock market….the SAME kind of spike happened the next day, from 3.10 to 3.40, even though I was no longer in the stock.

4. My biggest wins come on stocks where there are VERY few shares to short (hence why I push my 10 instructional DVD packages so hard to prepare my students to learn how to anticipate these patterns and reserve shares ahead of time…see exhibit A NXT Nutritionals Holdings Inc. (NXTH)…the CEO might publicly blame me for the stock’s fall, but during their first promotional mailer back in late 2009, I trashed the company over their horrific SEC filings and hyperbolic mailer, but I couldn’t find one share to short….when I did find shares to short after the company’s February promotional mailer, TIMalert subscribers and I cleaned up, profiting $22,000+ in a mere few hours, but the stock dropped EXACTLY the same way it did during its last promotional mailer when we couldn’t find any shares to short….not to mention I covered just under $2/share and yet when I sent out my buy to cover alert, the stock didn’t rebound at all…and I should’ve held longer consider while profiting nicely from shorting at $3.19 down to $1.94ish is good, the current price of 65 cents/share is better….aka the company is a piece of trash and it would’ve dropped 80% with or without me….exhibit B when I shorted similarly promotional mailered Americas Energy Company (AENY) and the stock dropped 42% over a few days, I NAILED that chart pattern, but very few other TIMalert subscribers found shares to short.

5. When I do buy, the haters say I pump up the stock and so I should have big wins, right? Nope, I should probly quit buying altogether because the data clearly shows other than a few big wins in correctly predicting earnings breakouts in stocks like Luna Innovations Incorporated (LUNA) and Diedrich Coffee (DDRX), my buys usually perform miserably.

6. On Friday, ZANE spiked in the afternoon from 3.10 to 3.40ish with the SAME kind of volume spike as on Thursday when I bought at $3.10 and it also spiked to $3.40ish within the next 30 minutes…it’s called a key inflection point…ya know, the kind of important price level I discuss above and in ALL 10 instructional DVD packages….hmmmm why is this stock spiking the SAME way when there’s no TIMalert (Friday) as compared to when there is (Thursday)…both times the rallies failed although Friday’s drop (when there was no TIMalert invovled…this is counter-intuitive, if TIMalerts influenced prices, the drop in the hour AFTER the alleged influencing should be greater since it’s alleged that the entire spike was caused by TIMalerts) was greater:

http://www.timothysykes.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/zanespike.gif" alt="zanespike Does TIMalerts Influence Stock Prices?" title="zanespike" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-10386" height="335" width="579">

CONCLUSION: Because TIMalerts doesn’t affect the stock price, this is how these stocks trade at key inflection points, especially in the early morning and late afternoon periods…and just to make everyone happy I trade more liquid stocks and have been holding longer too.

People, TIMalerts is not meant to be traded off of, it’s meant to be for educational purposes only…and as the number of TIMalert subscribers has grown, I have by and large traded more liquid stocks so as to avoid these kinds of frustrating accusations.

Let this be a lesson never to attack the #1 most transparent trader in the world…all my trades are verified where I am #1 out of 45,000+ on Covestor, my strategy is detailed in blogs, interviews, DVDs, newsletters–all for you all to learn and anticipate my trades and all my entries/exits/profit goals/mental stop losses are all spelled out for everyone in watchlists and trading alerts.

In short, haters BRING IT ON, I EAT ASSUMPTIONS FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER…THERE’S A LOT OF THEM SO THAT’S WHY I’VE GIANED SO MUCH WEIGHT…YES “THE SINGLE DUMBEST PERSON IN FINANCE” JIM VAN MEERTEN I’M TALKING TO YOU OLD MAN…the guy accuses me of fraud and manipulation without ANY evidence whatsoever before Motley Fool deletes his post…then perhaps sobering up from too much Viagra, the guy deletes his post from his own blog…resorting to saying I make up lies and that the commenters were abusive (they weren’t, and bloggers have cool tools where we can actually delete coments and not the posts…yes, it’s a pretty amazing world, Jim’s lies dig his own grave, literally and figuratively)…Jim, I’m still waiting for you to tell me exactly what lies I made up, what stocks I manipulated and more importantly, I asked you whether you gave the stock promoters approval to use your name on their absurd promotional mailer for NXTH…if not, why do you attack me and not them? You claim you weren’t compensated, but your actions say otherwise…for those of you have no idea what I’m talking about, see this post and listen to the free podcast included in it…you’ll learn to laugh at/cherish pure financial ignorance.

Tim I like your site, and I like ever thing you have done and I am not attacking you in any way. I have most of your DVD's and have used your alerts and have followed you since the beginning of your site. I am not bashing you in anyway but imo you need to be a little more transparent with yourself and your followers on this issue. Frankly I am a bit insulted that you would not be open about this because it's completely and utterly obvious. If a person starts an alert subscription for say real stocks in the $20 to $50 range with market caps of 1 billion to 20 billion and they have say 500 subs each with $10-25k, these people will influence the price of a stock by $.10-.20 easily each time they trade. I know because I have used such services. Now if you take your scenario where you have 1600 subs, and say half, or even a third trade the same stock that you trade on any given day (which wouldn't make sense in and of itself because these people are paying $50 to $100 for your service a month which isn't a lot, but is something) these people will influence the price of the stock. For instance in the case of ZANE or a SINO like the last few days these stocks have less than $10-30 million market caps. If you have 400 subs trading a stock, which is very conservative, and each sub has only $3500 in their accounts which is also very conservative and most likely not realistic because some have $25k or even several hundred thousand, they will bring $1.4 million of volume into the stock on the same side as you. 1.4 million/25million is = 5.6% of the total volume that trades through a stock and as I said this is very conservative, you probably have more like half your subs trading each stock depending on if they can find shares to short (since a lot have thinkorswim and thinkorswim has been lame lately) or if they actually are at there computer when you send and alert. You can not deny that if your subs trade 5.6% of the total volume on a stock, they will increase the price. For instance yesterday on ZANE a 300 share short decreased the price by on average .03 cents. That means your buy alone decreased the price by much more than that that amount and your subs definitely caused a drop because this is a low float stock. Even if you just took the handful of people that claimed they made money and posted on your site, and added up there shares, you still would move the stock at least .10 but probably much more. When your subs got in and shorted for instance $14000000 I guarantee you influenced the price. I could take any chart of any stock that you traded and know exactly when you sent and alert because the pop or drop starts at the exact second you send your alert and these aren't normal breakouts or break downs. A normal breakout might be $.20 when a stock breaks our or breaks down and you are in 90% of the time the stock moves double that. External traders (non tim alerts subs) definitely influence the price of these stocks but not until your subs push the price up or down first in most cases. Yes stocks pop or drop when they break key inflection points but the whole world doesn't know when you send you alerts out. The whole world does know when their screener's light up with unusual volume or a dramatic price increase/decrease and then they jump in your pick and push the stock further.

You will probably bash me or flame me, or tell me I am a retard and thats fine, but this has been bugging me and I had to get it out there just for the sure principal. It's not bad that you influence the stock. You are a trader and you make people money which is great but you should be honest.
If you want to prove your subscribers don't influence the price then start a website which will allow your subs to choose which stock they traded and how many shares they traded.

Very long, boring posts, both irrelevant to the question asked. What good is a Q&A session with Tim if it doesnt answer the question. Waste of time. WHY DOES LIONMASTER HAVE THE POWER TO SQUEEZE YOU, AND YOU DONT HAVE THE POWER TO SQUEEZE OTHERS? Simple question. You will never answer that, because your hypocracy gets in the way. With regards to your level 2 DVD, there are many free resources on the net that provide far more valuable information. In regards to this specific trade, I say again, yes there were buyers, but also many sellers waiting to pounce, hence FAILED spike time after time after time. Bad buy then perhaps knowing this fact? That doesnt mean I think it was a good short either. If you continue to mislead people that Level 2 is the holy grail you will encounter an uprising of backlash, as you know as well as any seasoned trader that Level 2 is full of manipulation geared at seeking out the novice, weak trader. Sure, it can be useful on some stocks at some times, depending on the market makers involved. It can also be almost irrelevant, and downright dangerous. Stop promoting your damn DVDs, and playing to your small group of hard core loyal lovers, and address questions specifically and honestly, with humility, so that the majority of us who want to believe and trust in you, can.

And to address the last point of your latest response, if you were smart you would refund my money as I do not care for your worthless service. Good strategies, yes. Good alerts, 50/50. Good watchlist, not so much. Video watchlist, absolute waste of everybody's time.

Im not ruining anything, I just advise people to TRUST NOBODY, especially someone who cant wait to tell people how honest he is.

Tim, seriously, please dont mislead people... You say "MY service is worthless? LOL, you yourself said you were up $20,000+ based on my strategy, your own success proves EXACTLY how "worthless" my service is." Exactly, I have ALWAYS said your strategies are good, and that I have made good money following your basic fundamental teachings. But I have also told you that I have made next to NOTHING on your alerts or watchlists, rendering them, in my opinion, useless. What you fail to tell people above is that I upgraded after vigoursly trying to get a refund on Tim Alerts. I only upgraded because Tim Alerts via Email/Text is even more worthless than by email. I didnt upgrade because I loved the service. Please be honest here Tim. P.S. I'm not a meak little 18 y.o. puppet with 5k to my name like 90% of your subscribers. I wont respect you just because you tell me I should. For if you were in my presence I would eat you like a ham & cheese sandwich.
